Knowledge Is At Class?
Posted by admin in news in my view on May 24th, 2010
Some people may believe that going to classes should be optional, but I disagree. I don’t understand how university students can expect to learn anything if they don’t attend classes. Personal experience can help people learn about themselves and the world outside the classroom, but when it comes to learning about academic subjects, students need to be in class.
In class they receive the benefit of the teacher’s knowledge. The best teachers do more than just go over the material in than class textbook. They draw their students into discussion of the material. They present opposing points of view. They schedule guest speakers to come, give the students additional information, or show documentary films on the subject.
Also, attending classes on any subject teaches more than just facts. It teaches students how to learn, how to absorb information and then apply what they’ve learned to other situations. Their teacher is the best one to help them with these skills. They can’t learn them just by reading the textbook.
Going to class also teaches students how to work with the other members of the class. Many times students will be given group assignments. This is different from what they did in secondary school. Here they’re with people from different backgrounds and experiences. In this situation, they learn how to handle working with people different from themselves to achieve a common goal.
Going to class also teaches students responsibility and discipline. Having to be at a particular place at a particular time prepares them for getting a job. Being at a place on time with an assignment completed prepares them for a career.
In short, by going to class students learn more than just information from the teacher. They also learn how to learn, how to work with others, and how to work responsibly. These are not optional skills in life, so attending classes should not be optional in college.
Tactics for Farmville Game
Playing a game and not knowing how to go about it can be really frustrating for any gamer. This also holds true for most Farmville gamers. But, before you even think about quitting, it helps to give the game a second look as you try searching for some basic Farmville game tactics that might help you in your journey to become the best farmer there is.
This Guide is to be used as a resource to assist the players when planning what seeds to plant. It will help estimate accurately how much Exp and Money they will Make! I hope you find this guide helpful. Please make constructive criticisms in the comments!
You can share the fastest way to improve your farmville game skills. The quickest way to level is easily by planting berries. By continually planting strawberries you get (If you have a 12*12 farm) 288 Exp Every 4 hours. This is the very fast way. But obviously this is mainly used at the weekend unless you can check your farm and spend 20 minutes harvesting, ploughing and planting every hour. Naturally – if you’re in it for the levels and not the money – you can plough as much land as possible and continually plant on them. To get the most effective Exp Out of a plot you could leave a section of your farm plowed without seeding it and then plant soybeans.Delete the Patches, And repeat, as many times as desired.
Wanting fast levels means you wish to spend money on it. Buildings yield a lot of experience – however will cost you a large amount of your money. Eg. A windmill is bought for 100,000 Coins and Given 1,000Exp. Or 1% of what you paid…In Exp!
Finally, Helping 20 neighbours a day although somewhat dull, yields a maximum of 100 Exp for 20. In addition, the newly released Achievements gives great Exp as well as some money to spend on more Exp!
But you have to follow the basic ways in game playing. The very basic strategy if you are just starting out is to save your coins. Just buy the things that will bring in more profit at the least time possible. This is where buying seeds, plowing, planting, harvesting and selling your produce comes in. Buying seeds should be a top priority over animals and vehicles until you get to a certain level or else you might not have enough coins left to progress in the game.
Another thing to look into is experience points. One of the most important things in the game is your way of getting more experience points. You can simply obtain them by harvesting consistently or by helping out your neighbors. Doing so will give you enough points that will allow you to get more ribbons to level up quickly.
Experience are the true measure of value in your game. There is very little that you cant do without experience points. You can build them by harvesting religiously. They will enable you to get more ribbons and level quickly.
There are still plenty of basic Farmville game tactics you need to know such as buying buildings, giving gifts, etc. They may seem pretty basic but they can greatly affect the outcome of your quest to be the top farmer in Farmville.
Helping neighbors will give you plenty of extra coins and build relationships with other players. This helps you get the neighbor ribbons and they will in turn return the favors to you.
Riches of the Mind
The hidden sources of wealth that are within us frequently go unrecognized, and unutilized. Some people waste their substances on “riotous living” like a prodigal son and find it turns to dust and ashes as life loses its savor.
But many frugal, industrious and hard-working people waste it in a continuous effort that leaves them too harassed and exhausted to enjoy “just living”. As one woman said, “We are too busy earning a living to have time to live.” Sometimes such people turn to stimulants to gain a fictitious sense of relief. But the outcome leaves them more jaded than before. So many people have not learnt how to tap their own inner resources. They frequently tend to measure their enjoyment by a round of hectic activities that are too superficial to register in the depths of their mind, from which alone true enjoyment can come.
So, unsatisfied, they dash around ever seeking some new thing, and missing the treasure that is hidden within them. To live on the surface of life is to meet all its frictions and either get rubbed raw by them, or grow callused to them. In either case growth is stopped and the true springs of life are blocked up.
No money can buy the inner capacity that enriches and transfigures everyday experience. The riches of mind and heart are gifts without price. They arise from a deeper level within us when we are true to ourselves and not trying to imitate someone else.
We Should Remember About Michael Jackson
Posted by admin in news in my view on July 23rd, 2009
When I first heard the news that Michael Jackson had died I immediately dismissed it. I thought it was a cruel rumor that was being circulated. He was equally adored and ridiculed like no one else. He made society respectful to the African-American people, but he passed away as a white guy. Controversy and unconventional lifestyle characterized more than half of his lifetime, but his extraordinary dance skills and singing talent elevated him to heights undreamt of. He was humiliated and shattered by the tabloids because of his alleged relationships with children, but he sold over 750 millions copies worldwide.
Almost anyone could speak out the word ‘king of pop’, the symbolic calling. He has navigated and lived through these tough situations even though is seemed he wont come out. The court battles involving the two boys, the many concerts organized and failed to attend and all other nasty experiences underwent, he would already be out. In 1979, he released his first solo album, ‘Off The Wall’ that sold 20 million copies worldwide and went 7x Platinum in the U.S. However, Jacko’s career soared to the sky with ‘Thriller’, released in 1982, the album with the highest record sales in the history of music.
After ‘Thriller’, Jacko released another four albums, ‘Bad’ in 1987, ‘Dangerous’ in 1991, ‘History’ in 1995 and ‘Invincible’ in 2001. However, none had the huge success and insight of ‘Thriller’ although many singles hit #1 of the UK and U.S. Billboard 200 Charts as well as #1 of U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
But Michael Jackson was so much more than that. Just as any other musician can, Michael Jackson has done several collaborations with the like of musicians like Britney Spears, Billie Jean and Paul Mccartney both of which have indeed excelled in the industry of pop. And the recent publicized collaboration with Akon and the likes is good for his music. Whatever the case controversies are part of carrier development and Michael is no exemption.
Apart from his revolutionary dancing style and stage presence, Jacko featured a completely innovative way the video clips would be used from his time onwards. Featuring complex dance routines, special effects and many super-competent dancers and always narrating the story of his song in image clips, Jackson transformed video clips into an art form that could promote his musical talent and his future influence on pop music.
However, controversy came ahead of time in the glow of Michael Jackson. The comeback of Michael Jackson the legend is totally awaited with a lot of anticipation for the love of his music. He does thing in a different way. His works are like myth to many who yearn to know his way of singing. It’s automatic he is coming back and this time with a bang. With surety Michael Jackson controversies won’t bring down his fame. On the top of everything, he was accused of molesting young boys and having an alleged encounter with actor, Macaulay Culkin. Jacko was found non-guilty as charged, but his assets declined severely, dividing public opinion.
He picked up where James Brown left off with his pure, powerful soulfulness and unsurpassed dancing skills. James Brown had moves. Michael Jackson had moves and choreography. He mesmerized white teenage audiences with greater effect than Elvis. Elvis had charm. Michael Jackson had charm and unprecedented energy. He crossed over and was embraced by white audiences in a way that Prince had only dreamed of. Prince had crossover appeal. Michael Jackson had crossover appeal and successfully crossed over. Young children were also drawn to and excited by Michael Jackson and his music in an inexplicable way that no music artist has ever been able to come close to.
Jacko will be soon forgotten for his legal woes and he will be remembered for his unprecedented contribution to global pop culture and his humanitarian work. It’s true that he has been mocked for his plastic surgeries, his skin color changing and his cheekbone and nose thinning. Many people were laughing at him saying he would break in pieces on stage in his forthcoming concerts in London, on February 2010. Media was harsh on him, maybe harsher than what they have been on really ‘bad’ guys, although Jacko had always been a sweet-talking person, genuinely wonderful and compassionate. Besides, having supported 39 charity organizations through sponsorships or donations, Jacko’s humanitarian work was great.
His fans always stood next to him, supporting him, never believing a word about him being a molester, swearing he suffered from vitiligo, lupus, anorexia nervosa, and body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). His enemies stood against him, attacking him, disregarding his talent and judging him only for his eccentric acts and alleged accusations.
Only Michael Jackson knows the truth about him. All of us, whether we stand for or against him, we have a common truth: If it wasn’t for him, African-American artists would need another twenty years to see their video clips aired on MTV or their work promoted on radio and TV shows. If it wasn’t for him, money would never be raised for AIDS like it happened in 1986 with his ‘We Are the World’ campaign and Africa would have to wait way too long for money to be raised for starving children.
There will be documentaries, TV tributes, and movies to commemorate his life, but Michael’s legacy is his influence which (present and future) music artists will be affected by and measured against. And, of course, his sensational music catalogue which remains unparalleled and further distances his him from today’s “stars.” It would perhaps have the philosophy to progress, but the skills were instilled by a boy born on Gary, Indiana, on August 29, 1958.
